eileen powers
Eileen is a Cape Cod-based photographer, graphic designer and self-portrait artist whose Can you make hair for me? collaborative project about chemotherapy has been featured in exhibitions, podcasts and news media around the country as well as in The Boston Globe. She has an MFA in visual art, and is currently the curator of by Annie Powell, a project dedicated to the photography of Annie Powell, as well a principle at Javatime Design since 2000. She has led workshops at Creighton University, the Smith Center and the Nantucket Atheneum and others.
Eileen is also a PhD student in aesthetics, art criticism and philosophy at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts in Portland, Maine. In her spare time is working on a children’s book, A Day at Litterbox Beach, with her favorite feline, Ms. Cheeze, and a book of essays with images called Can you make hair for me? A memoir in strands.
